What exactly does Aabroo do? The main domain of Aabroo Educational welfare Organization is providing free of cost Secondary School education and one year of vocational training to the children of domestic maids and other extremely poor families who have migrated from rural areas to urban slums. How is this education/ vocational training imparted? Aabroo has three Welfare schools out of which two schools run two shifts (morning & afternoon) and one girls school runs one shift. Every school is equipped with a vocational training centre and qualified instructors to cater the need for boys and girls separately. In addition to these schools Aabroo Jhugi Literacy project also provides free education to Gypsy Children by putting up Jhugi schools in their clusters. How a child gets admission in Aabroo School? Parent living around any Aabroo Welfare School can admit his/ her child simply by furnishing NIC, B-form from NADRA and address. Particulars submitted on the admission form are reconfirmed through volunteer field staff (mostly boys and girls from colleges & universities) in the due course. What other services Aabroo provides to its beneficiaries? In addition to providing free education & vocational training, Aabroo also provides free books, notebooks, pencils, rubbers, sharpeners, uniforms, school shoes, games & recreational trips, immediate health assistance and family support in case of distress or disability to the parents. Freshly cooked lunch is also provides to the children free of cost. Leaving out the development in the infrastructure or expansion of the program, the education delivery and the cost of other direct benefits that the students avail cost Aabroo, Pak RS. 500.00 (US$ 6.0) per month per child. What are the sources of funding for Aabroo Educational Welfare Organization? Aabroo is a community based charity organization. All the funding to Aabroo comes from the local Pakistani community and some Pakistanis living abroad. Mostly it is Zakat and Sadaqat. In case of kind donations food grains, leftover extra medicines and dry solid waste donated by the local household are also the source of funding to Aabroo. No foreign funding agencies or government is involved. Are the accounts of Aabroo audited?

Aabroo Educational Welfare Organization is registered and is legally bound to keep its accounts audited and allow uninterrupted access to their details to general public. Aabroo is also tax exempted from FBR under its order no.9&E/420/995 of 16/6/2007.
What is the management of Aabroo Educational Welfare Organization? Aabroo has a Board of Governors comprising of 13 members. These members are high achievers in their fields and belong to different walks of life. The Board of Governors officially meets once a year and is responsible of advising upon the overall policy of Aabroo Educational Welfare organization. Aabroo also has an Executive Committee comprising of 19 members. These members (men & women) are elected from the general body every three years. Presently, this is the third elected executive committee in the office. The Executive Committee officially meets every two months and is responsible decision making in the day-to-day business of Aabroo Educational Welfare organization. What is about the sustainability of Aabroo Educational Welfare Organization? To minimize our dependence on the donations from the benefactors, Aabroo has initiated a Solid Waste Management program in February 2007. This program through its three years is shouldering 17% of total expenditure of the organization.
